So far no joy from anybody, so I just click away sometimes, and hope that one day I will find out how to download from both to my computer.

    Can't you just buy a card-reader?

faster and doesn't use the camera's battery....

You should be able to use iPhoto to import straight to your iMac from the HP - when you connect the cam to the iMac do you get any messages at all? The phone has bluetooth - you can bluetooth your photos from the phone to your iMac (as long as your iMac model has bluetooth of course!(most have)).

It's difficult to buy a poor compact cam now, competition if fierce. As a semi-pro photographer I tend to recommend and have used used Fuji compacts (there are pink ones - or rather 'hot-pink').

http://www.dpreview.com is probably the 'best' review site.

Like most cameras you are supplied a disc/usb cable to upload your pics to the pc or laptop - easy peasy even for numpties/females.

Sony insist on only supporting Memory Stick though - not regular SD/SDHC cards. so where I can happily use my SD cards in both my DSLR and my compact, I'd have had to buy more memory cards if I'd bought Sony. so no thanks.

oh, and do you know some of the Lumix range share exactly the same internals as the equivalent Leica models? the only difference is the casing and the firmware.

Fuji and Cannon are bed partners, as are Kodak and Nikon, there is a crossover on most models.
Almost all sub-contract out the nailing together to China.
Bit like 90% of plasma TV's come out of LG's factory in Korea.

yess...but as someone said, if they won the lotto they'd get a Leica. I thought this was worth pointing out to those people who'd like a Leica but dont have that kind of money.
