I have really struggled since leaving five years ago. Have though a lot about going back but my other half wont have it and I can't jack on my kids.
The most painful thing is I can look back now with a bit of maturity and see that I really c0cked up the chance of a good career with a pension after 22 yrs.
Life in civvy strasse can be tough and you need a bit of luck on your side too.
And as for having control over your life, what does that mean?? does anyone have real control over their lives??? Once you have a mortgage the bank has you by the balls anyway.
If you are threaders in the Army and want to leave dont just flounce off in a strop before you have tried everything to make it work or you may live to regret it...
