Thread: Receipts fo IE

I seem to think this has been covered before so apologies. From 1 Apr, UK Rates of Incidental Expenses (IE) are £5, on production of receipts. However, recepits are only required for over £5. So, my questoin is, is it right to assume that anyone who claims IE will need to say what they have spent, but do not need to show receipts for it?

Not sure how the mil are dealing with this bit in IR35 speak, receipts are to be held for the month after the claim is approved should the IR wish to audit, presume after that they are safe to "file away"

not a very good system it should really be here is a £fiver for everyone.

Customs & Excise and Inland Revenue don't require receipts for under £5, but they do want an explanation of what the money was spent on.

Think you'll also find that if an individual has lots of £5 claims, then you'll get lots more questions, as they generally believe that everyone is out to screw the system, and they behave accordingly. Actually, that sounds like a lot of Pay Staff...

Last PAYE audit team ate all the pies, and only spoke if they needed to ask a question.
