Even more so in that it is not standard across even the Army, some places have it others don't.

If done well (like it was in some places) it wasn't. If you were in a cheapskate place that opted for the core menu rather than the enhanced menu, then it probably would have upset you. What it meant to me was that I could eat what I wanted, when I wanted, and spent less per week on food than I did whilst paying food charges.

Sounds like the shit breakfast you got with the gurkhas, 1 compo sausage cold, 1 boiled egg and a tiny spoonful of beans usually fecking cold too!. Thank fuck their evening meals were decent as the horror bags were fucking awful too!

They must have hated you. My brother spent some time with them and his main topic of conversation was the high standard of food they served - curried eggs for breakfast.

When was that? The food in Shornecliff is pretty excellent. Horror bags are a cut above as well.

As for the guy flapping about PAYD whilst on a two week course, I'm not sure why the Army would have a responsibility to feed a TA soldier on a course for free, when it doesnt have responsibility for feeding regular soldiers for free.

Yes it was 30 years ago in Kitchener Barracks and the food was usually good but their breakfast then was dire. We were lodging there whilst on a local training course and the funniest bit was the Pln Sgt was allergic to curry!

    No you can't.

IE can only be claimed when you are a hospital In-Patient.
