Discuss Dog in the workplace - insurance at the Pay, Claims & JPA forum within the The Army Rumour Service website; When I worked at the Big House in Rheindahlen I found them incredibly useful for ...
Avoid E&L like the plague. Seriously. I had to threaten them with - and copy letters to - the FSA to force them to cough up on a normal, run-of-the-mill insurance claim. Most vets I've had contact with won't deal directly with them, either, as they are known for not paying up.
PetPlan all the way - coverage is excellent and covers 3rd party up to £1 million. Still trying to find how to cause THAT much damage!

Knowing your two pooches mate, I'd up that to at least two mil if I was you
I love dogs, but there is no way I'd inflict them on others in the workplace. For a start, its the height of arrogance and ignorance to say 'I have a big badge or enough pips, look how fcuking great and lazy I am with my stinking hound. I'm far to fcuking special to walk this thing in my own time'.
I'm sure they revel in everyone else thinking they are selfish fcukers for not leaving it at home. Secondly, they are unpredictable, could bite someone and always seem to move INTO the person that inadvertently scares them. Cue payouts and slap on wrists.
[what's the alternative, remove the individual from post and allow the dog(s) to stay?
Gets my vote. One less CS, one more dog. Overall the workrate and morale just improved. Winner. :D
Who mentioned CS? Are they the only people afflicted with dog allergies? Where do you get your data from?
As mentioned before, you're a dick who takes your stinking hound to work. I'm thinking of taking my Goldfish next week. Less likely to offend others and just as absurd.
i wouldn't bother. due to some high profile legal action dogs in the workplace are almost certainly going to be universally banned within the next 12 months
I refer, once again to the above and hope it is the case.
For a start, some dogs smell. Their owners become used to the smell and therefore are unable to smell them. That doesn't mean the rest working in that environment are unable to.
There is no need for anyone to bring a dog to the workplace.
Simple policy for annoying dogs.....size 10 boot. A couple of the mutts that roam our place (6 on some days in a small HQ) decided it was good to rifle through my bins in the office, a spot of Eric Cantona and I haven't seen them near my place, in fact they run the other way when they see me. As was said before it's down to the owners to look after them, if you don't then I see them as sport. :P
What a hard b*stard you must be. Kicking a small animal. You're my hero!! Well.....you're not really. You're a cnut!
You seem to get awfully wound-up by trivial matters such as these - can I offer any assistance?
I dont find kicking small animals trivial. Guess I'm just not a hardman like everyone else.
I dont see it as hard, it's just problem solving, maybe I should get some initiative award (or some other worthless certificate). As said before, no probs if you look after your mutt, I got a cat as I realised my job means I am unable to provide for a dog in the way I think it should be done. Do your homework before making the decision to get a dog.....some trivia about time spent on recce......trumpet!
Well, I had a Black Lab and wanted to call it 'Nigger' and take it to work. My missus wouldn't let me; take it to work. ;)
Let the chuffing Legal Beagles deal with the political bul...dog$hit.
If you are looking for insurance, then you shouldn't be considering taking your hound to work in the first place.
The last ruling that the CO had at my last place of work, was that anyone who wanted to bring their Poochums into work, first had to prove that said pet was fully vaccinated, then get agreement from ALL personnel in his/her office/area. He was barking mad and got hounded all the time, which always got him hot under the collar. Our immediate OC was requested to not bring her Lab in (great dog), because one of our split arrse work clerks had a phobia against dogs.
Unfortunately, blanket ruling/banning will ensue, as there is no such thing in the Forces as 'One rule for one and one rule for another!!!!'
If I gave a $hit, you'd be the first person I'd give it to.
Don't question authority - THEY DON'T KNOW EITHER.
My boss is like a diaper - always on my arrse and full of $hit.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Let me ge this straight. I agree that dogs should not be brought into the workplace if everyone is not happy with it. However that does not give the right for someone to give it a boot. If someone booted my dog, their teeth would be in the open order no matter how big and hard he thought he was. I'd also go round to his house and boot his wife in the fanny and spit in her eye!!.......Ok, maybe not the last bit, but you get my point. Kicking an animal is out of order, even if it has shat in your cup of tea! :D
