Unnecessary.

Reason: Unnecessary in your eyes, but people are allowed their views, opinions etc... Ive written this because Ive nailed the exchanges between you and 5A that follow on the next page.
Discipline: Discipline is the sacrifice of a man's comforts, inclinations, safety, even life for others, for something greater than himself. It is the refusal to be the weak link in the chain that snaps under pressure.
I went to the Duke of York's before they let girls in (I wonder why I turned out gay...)
It was a strange place to say the least. If you were caught with porn mags, the school had a policy of sending them home to your parents. Considering my old man was an RE WO, he must have been fcuking loving it. Bulling boots as an 11 year-old until two in the morning wasn't much fun either, especially with a cnut of a teacher who'd never served outside the CCF screaming at you that 'millions of men died for you and you can't even polish a pair of shoes' (the bloke in question has been mentioned above).
I think part of the problem is that the school likes to think that it's some sort of public school when lots of the pupils are just ordinary boys who grew up on pads estates and get a massive shock when they run into things like haircut regulations and - I'm not making this up - 'illegal socks'. Half of the blokes in my year became institutionalised to it all and excelled (probably still do) but loads of us had our lives royally fcuked up by the experience and didn't do quite so well. There was definitely an alcohol problem whilst I was there and it seems to be tolerated save for the occasional crack-down.
If I had kids, they'd be going to a normal, local school, being taught by normal teachers and interacting with people on a normal basis outside of an extremely narrow social group. I disliked the place so much that in my 'death letters' to my mother whilst in Bosnia and Iraq, I specifically said that if anything happened, I didn't want my name to go up in the school chapel where all the old boys killed in action are listed.
I would highly recommend a normal education, not being thrown into a nazi regime which DOYRMS upholds. One night last year there was a bit a gale blowing over the school, kids still went to lessons but when it came to there free time we were not allowed outside because it was considered dangerous. So its ok to walk to lessons in dangerous conditions but not to walk to another boarding house or tuck shop. Same thing happened when it snowed, lessons were given the go ahead but pupil freedom wasnt.
Last year the school held a concert with Jools Holland being the star attraction. So the pupils had to do endless litter sweeps in order for the occassion then in the evening of the night all the pupils were not allowed to go outside in there only slot of free time because (quoted from a senior teacher) "We cannot let the general public know that this is a school with YOU lot in it, we have a reputation to uphold".
Sexism is very popular with teachers. Girls get put on coaches and sent to bluewater shopping what to the lads get, nothing. We hardly get allowed out of the school but the girls are allowed out. Not that shopping would be popular but not even a sunday afternoon downtown watching the local rugby team play. I can also remember seeing sixthform girls sitting on the knees of quite elderly male members of staff just "having a chat".

Be VERY careful what you commit to writing on here
yes... in inverted commas, implying 'tongue in cheek', nudge nudge wink wink etc! Just be careful is all I'm saying, you're not as anonymous as you might think and there's already been a staff member posting on here!
Added to which there are now thousands of ageing squaddies with St Trinian fetishes, thrapping themselves into comas at the very thought of 6th form girls in gym slips and over the knee socks, sitting on their laps!! A VERY unkind thing to do to such elderly men! There'll be a line of ambulances a mile long outside Chelsea Hospital by 2pm!!
