RSM will know the score and if he doesn't - Just do what he says and you can't go far wrong, after all, who else will bollock you for it?
Plus - Only wear medasl you're issued I say, otherwise you might feel like a big walted tit when your mates see the photos or you on the day!

Nothing wrong with it, the sword is purely ceremonial but a short note to RSM for permission is still good thing to do. Guard can be in Blues no problem there also, any good regiment (even the Gunners) would be happy to see it's younger ranks displaying such pride (and effort) at such an event.
Dry books of tactics are beneath the notice of a man of genius, and it is a known fact that every British officer is inspired with a perfect knowledge of his duty, the moment he gets his commission; and if it were not, it would be sufficiently acquired in conversaziones at the main-guard or the grand sutler's.

I was wondering if you could answer my question, i am getting married to a solider on saturday and he has been allowed to wear number 1's he also asked for permission to wear a rank higher as he is still only a sig. one person mentioned to us that you could get into a lot of trouble if you got caught wearing a rank if you haden't earned it.

please can someone advise me as we don't know what to believe.

    many thanks
