    That's an interesting one.

I couldn't be arrsed going through the training again.

I've got to the stage of my life now where people shouting at me just makes me either laugh or pull a "do I give a shite" face. If I was 18 again (brushes off cobwebs from brain) and had grown up in the society we are in now, if I was a Master Ninja at (insert random Playstation game or whatever is the fashion here) shootin' em up, and could handle being called a wuss for joining as a clerk, then yes.

If I had to join again at the ripe old age that I am, then no. I've had 20 years of shites and giggles, been on a few op tours, got a few gongs, had D&V, danced like a dickhead in the Marly, been to O'Reillys, eaten egg banjos at daft o'clock in the morning etc. etc. I'd rather keep my memories.

Edited to add: I've met a right load of dodgy bastards too, I mean ....... mates.

Re: Would you serve again ?

I joined an Army & left a (hamstrung) Police force.

(Thats a NO.....unless the BBC lend me the Tardis beam me back to when I was 16!)

Edit: I'm hoping Telic/Herrick will help my successors return to being an Army again in the eyes of their paymasters instead of a glorified fatigue party used to settle industrial desputes among the Emergency services.

Yep I would, but I'd be fcuked if I'm going through Lympstone again. I'd join as an army chef. That way once I leave again the world of walts wont be trying to impersonate what I've done. :D

Re: Would you serve again ?

Yep, joined at 17 as it was the only thing I ever really wanted to do. It was also an excellent way to get out of the town I lived in.
Much better living standards where I live now, similar job prospects to when I was 17 but if I was 17 now I'd still join.

Nah, we would make a whole load of new ones instead.

Yes I would, skip the training and get on with it.
Like to try again, still fit, but with duff knee, and need to watch my lower back in cold weather, and a half-century up they wouldn't have me.
Though the way things are going after Bliar/Broon I fully expect the letter on the mat any day now.

Would join again "back then" but not now.

More than happy to keep the memories and no real complaints on how the career went or where I finished

    Sometimes wonder how I got away with some of it . . . . . . . .
    Of course I don't look busy . . .

I did it right first time

Re: Would you serve again ?

Big yes from me, Joined when i was 16yrs old and loved every minute of the bullshit ! and it kept me out of the jail, changed my outlook on life(thankfully) and allowed me to meet and serve with some great lads, made a few mistakes when in, so with the gift of hindsight i'd go back and do it all again with a few changes thrown in.
Yes dixie will fit in the tumble dryer !
