Re: Would you serve again ?
Torn in two. On the one hand I would love to do it all again as I had some great laughs and a fair few very satisfying jobs. OTOH, it changed so much (and the vast majority for the worse) between the late seventies and the early noughts that it puts me off.

Re: Would you serve again ?
Yes I would, and I'd go into the Engineers again. Just this time round I'd make a couple of different decisions concerning my career.

Re: Would you serve again ?
Thoroughly enjoyed my 25 years and would join again. If the question was if you could go back and what would you do differently, well, I would still have joined the RE and still done BD. The only thing I'd change would be to join when I was older and not at 16!
If the question is would we re-join now ... yes but they wouldn't have me! Fast approaching 49 and a limb missing might not make me the best candidate for deployment to Helmand (and I don't want my pension f*cked up)!

Would I do it all again?
Knowing what I know now, how much it hurt, the mates I lost, the current attitude of people and government to HM Forces ---
YES! (But not at my age)No sooner did we form into teams than we were re-organised.
I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet every situation by re-organising and what a wonderful method it is for giving the illusion of progress whilst only producing confusion, inefficiency & demoralisation.

Re: Would you serve again ?
I'd do it all again without any hesitation. Yes, lots of it was shite, but the great times I had and mucca's I've made have made it all worthwhile. It is a brilliant life in my opinion.

Re: Would you serve again ?
Yes, without question. I'd still go for the RE, but with eyes open and possibly a different career stream...
