I also reached the summit with Kiszley and Mitchell, and if you can remember the sentence that Kiszley said to Mitchell when we got there, just before the crap hit the fan again, then you will agree with me that it was quite comical if he hadnt been serious.

I was fortunate to meet and work with Majors Kizely and Bethell after the Falklands. Top guys.

I was fortunate enough to be sat well to the rear and only watched the battles from a distance, but the sights and sounds of the fighting carried a long way. I can only imagine what it was like being right in the middle of it.

Respect to you guys who made the assault and RIP to those who fell.

Where have the last 30 years gone though?

In the career of glory one gains many things; the gout and medals, a pension and rheumatism....all of these fatigues experienced in your youth, you pay for when you grow old. Because one has suffered in years gone by, it is necessary to suffer more, which does not seem exactly fair.

Once a Guardsman always a Guardsman.
I have walked the battlefield and what the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards achieved that night can only be described as incredible.

How was it that Guardsman Reynolds was awarded the DSM?

I thought it was exclusively for RN personnel as an equivalent to the MM.

A typo by johnboyzzz methinks, Gdsm Reynolds was awarded the DCM (posthumously).

Many thanks, thought it might have been an unusual award but as Gdmn Reynolds was land based I was a little confused.

    Cheers.

I spent a year in FI and went up tumbledown many times. I find it a very emotional place and always have a lump in my throat and tear in my eye when walk up.
Ultimate respect for all that were involved.
