Re: Sword wearing question
It goes underneath the sash. Your blues Jacket should have two little metal hooks on either side into which the belt hooks to keep it from slipping out from underneath the sash.
If your jacket dosen't have any, then just crank it up really tight!Shiny boots - shiny mind

Yes it is.
I've e-mailed the company in your link.
Many thanks for that."If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner's testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will save just one British life, then I have only three things to say; Red is positive, Black is negative, and Make sure his nuts are wet"

Re: Sword wearing question
Funny you should say that, none of the Officers' jackets had those hooks on (including mine) but all the ORs' jackets did. Am I missing something?

Re: Royal Artillery Scabbard
Wilkinson is going out of the sword business apparently, but may still have stock.

Re: Sword wearing question
The tunics may still have small slots in the sides for the belt hooks. You should be able to get belt hooks to slip in place from a kit shop, or tailor.

Hooks - If your blues jacket has belt hooks thenit is an OR pattern. The belt hook is to stop the white belts from slipping down at the sides.
Sword belts go under the jacket.Sympathy - You'll find it in the dictionary between Sh*t and Syphillis

Re: Sword wearing question
That's the way I've always seen them worn. I've also seen tunics with a discreet slot, for fixing belt hooks.

Re: Sword wearing question
Doesn't it depend on your regiment or corps? As an Infantryman I wear my swordbelt over the jacket, on the hooks and underneath the sash. If you dont wear a sash ie you are likely to be a gunner or cavalryman (apologies for wrong precedence) it goes under the jacket. If you didn't go to the right tailor your jacket won't have hooks at the side and you just do it up tight and subsequently collapse!
That's the spirit George. If all else fails a total pigheaded unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Re: Sword wearing question
I am talking about for Royal Signals. My jacket has belt loops.
It appears that when people put it over the jacket, it slips down and looks terrible. On the other hand, when the belt is under the jacket, you can;t clip up your sword and have to carry the thing everywhere you go. A bit of a pain in the arrse when you have a glass of champers in one hand and your brand new wifey in the other.....
Can anyone give me a definitive? I think I should start a poll.........

Re: Sword wearing question
If you're in a situation with Champers and a girlie, you should have taken your sword off and put it somewhere safe surely?
