I believe, David G-O died over 10 years ago, though a quick Google doesn't reveal anything.

'Tis true that swearing was very much frowned upon.
It was like that when I got here.

I am a little confused how some of them managed to get through AOSB. I thought the whole idea od AOSB was to weed out the wannabes, the wet blankets and those who showed no commitment?

I thought some of the platoon were brilliant. Especially the guy that started vomiting during his water parade!
"Are you going to be sick again?" "No.... Bleurgghsplash...."

What's the reason for a dawn drinking parade?

AOSB is just an extended job interview, prior to people attending the graduate trainee programme (when converted to a business example). Have you never seen someone start a job and you wondered how on earth they got through the interview?

The most important result is who commissions at the end - the fact that some slip through the interview net but are identified or self select out during the process shows that the process is a pretty good filter.

    Shite wah.

Aye he wanted to wrap after two days. I think by the end of the episode it transpired that he had made the first 4 weeks though.

Dawn drinking parade is to start hydration first thing, you will notice that they carry their water bottles with them all day for topping up.
It is warm work and this day may be the last to us at any moment, but mark you! I would not be elsewhere for thousands.
