Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
I see from Teletext today that Parsons & Parsons in Belfast is closing down.
Rather a shame, but those in the area may be able to pick up a bargain or two.
They used to have quite a large stock of Bladen for example.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Gentlemen.
I have read the entire thread, and will therefore not have to ask about Samuel Windsor, Raja etc etc.
Recently, my entire collection of suits was destroyed in a moth attack while I was away.
They're for the bin, and I recently saw CT's brochure on suits for £250ish.
These days, I don't wear a suit much, but was thinking of buying all 5 of the cloths they offered in the brochure to "have done with it".
How do they compare with Pakeman's mail order offereing? Or for a little bit more should I buy the fabrics and go and see Mr George on Cleveland St?
The delight that must exist in spending £2k + in a suit is not for me. I want say 4-5 suits, and while I could afford to go the whole hog on all of them, Its half a term's school fees for a suit, so maybe later.
£250-600 would be more my budget, and as I say, 4 or 5 suits will be enough.
I was thinking single breasted with three buttons. Charcoal, charcoal chalk/pin stripe, blue, blue stripe and maybe a check.
Any ideas?

Cheers. I know they are not going to be the quality of bespoke, but are they as good as say Pakehams? Which our resident experts seem to think are good for what they are and the money etc.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Pakeman's suits are made mostly of 14 oz fabric, and I believe the CT suits use a lighter fabric. Also, with Pakeman you can order a waistcoat, if you want one. One more thing, the trousers on the Pakeman suit have side adjusters and brace buttons; the CT suits have zipper and belt loops.
It would be wiser to first buy one suit, and see how you like it, wear it a few times. Then you could buy the rest later, based on your experience with the first suit.
You could also consider buying only two better suits, say made to measure from James and James at 38 Savile Row, incorporated by Davies and Son. They are £800, and you would have more options as to the fabric, cut and details that you want.

LondonIrish, if you visit CT's premises on Jermyn Street, it may well be useful to call at a couple of other nearby establishments. Roderick Charles usually have some decent suits at good prices, and Harvie and Hudson are also worth a look.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Roderick Charles are a good bet, as are Harvie & Hudson. When the sale is on you can also pick some stealth numbers at Crombie (about half price from £600). Personally I would buy 1 suit just to keep the dogs at bay and pay a visit to Mr.George. Better to go slow than to splurge however much on 5 suits in a one-er...
