Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
I bet Troopers in Colchester could do it, they could also add plate carriers, extra pouches and foliage loops. Give them a bell.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Which cavalry regiments wear their No. 1 overalls with double yellow stripes? Where are they based and what is the likelyhood of finding a set of blues second hand from these regiments?

Overalls? Cav? Yellow stripes on overalls?
Careful chaps - we're moving from dapperness into the realms of foppishness. You'll be discussing the merits of staybrite aguilettes next. Get back on thread this minute!'Reality,' sa molesworth 2, 'is so unspeakably sordid it make me shudder.'

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Exactly - I always believed this thread to be about what a chap wears when out of uniform. Uniform questions should be addressed to the appropriate regimental/corps forum where I am sure the information will be forecoming. Now I've got that off my chest I'll get back in my box.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Is that the sale price?
If it fits and it's made of wool, and you're happy with it, deal.
However, you might do better by looking for sales.

Cavalry get-up is rarely uniform, and certainly a sartorial matter. And thank you to Bat_Crab for that wonderfully chippy comment.
However, having been corrected as to where I should direct my queries, I will ensure they are, from now on, to the correct forum.'A nation that draws a demarcation between its thinking men and its fighting men will soon have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools'-Sir William Francis Butler

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Assuming it is 100% wool and fits then one other thing to consider. Shawl or peaked lapel - deal, notched - no deal. Ideally it should also be ventless and no flaps on the pockets of the coat but these are possibly not dealbreakers when your highest priority is saving money. However, if it's £99 how do they manage to do it? If it is wool then it will not be of the best quality so expect the shine quotient to be very high after a couple of wearings and end up looking like Fablon man.

Re: Dapper Clothing etc...
Lo folks,
Need to buy a new dress shirt for an upcoming ball due to old one being split asunder under the strain of encompassing my vast & bearish man-chest (cough), or possibly being eons old (less cough). I'm also due to start Sandbags in May, and know that various functions will require dress kit, so thought I may as well thrill two birds with one shirt.
1. Are dress shirts for uniform at Sandhurst issued or bought as part of a specific uniform? I am all ignorance.
2. If not, is there a specific style of dress shirt required / suggested / suggested-by-which-we-mean-required?
My preference would be standard pleated white shirt, studs not buttons, french cuffs obviously, and wing-collar, such as this style here (yes, I know, awful Italians go to Saville etc, it's just the first example Google presented). Would I be committing sartorial suicide at RMAS with that getup, or is that an acceptable piece of cotton for dress functions?
Cheers in advance for any wisdom.
