I think your speech at the council meeting helped too! Take some piccies of the official opening if you'd be so kind and place them up.
All the best to you and your family.''Up 800 - 4 men stood anxiously''

Re: Nimby neighbours war with SSAFA - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
aw shucks, thank u capt jack!
there were a quite few piccies taken today, and i have been promised copies, so as soon as rec'd i will post - Daily telegraph were there too, so it may be in the press soonish (or not you know how it goes!). Was nice to see some of the councillors appear too, both for and against, I gather that all parties are VERY supportive which is just brill and as we'd hoped :D
It was pretty informal, which was great so TnT rushing around just added to the feel :D :D .
First families booked in for the weekend, so it'll be heads up, the really important work starts then

Re: Nimby neighbours war with SSAFA - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
A home where the families of war wounded can stay during hospital visits is to open on Thursday thanks to readers of The Daily Telegraph.
This newspaper was given first access to the £1.8 million home bought by the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
Families will now be able to visit the seriously injured troops in relaxed surroundings that could prove vital for their long-term rehabilitation.
Previously, relatives travelling hundreds of miles to the rehabilitation centre at Headley Court in Surrey had to stay at hotels or in cramped official accommodation.
Now they can stay in a substantial converted six-bedroom home at the end of a quiet lane in one of Surrey's more exclusive neighbourhoods after £430,000 was donated by readers in the 2006 Christmas appeal.
Maj Gen Andrew Cumming, the association's chief executive, said the readers' contribution "gave us the courage to go ahead with this project".
He said: "It made us understand that people from across the country really cared about this project and there was a possibility of success."
Planning permission for the house was granted last August and the home will be officially opened on Thursday.
With the opening of Norton House, up to six families can now stay in comfort without having to worry about hotel or restaurant bills.
The association paid £1.7 million for the home and another £100,000 to install a disabled lift and special bathrooms for the handicapped.
The house was named after Capt Peter Norton, awarded the George Cross in Iraq for bravery in dealing with a roadside bomb blast in which he lost both his left arm and leg.
The site costs an estimated £150,000 a year to run.

Clicked on the link to read article and was stunned by the pic, what fabulous decoration. White carpets are not very child friendly though!

My thoughts as well. Its a nice show home bedroom, but not really a practical colour.
