I met Eric Kohn a couple of weeks ago on a flight LHR - GVA as we were boarding and I commented on his RAC Para Sqn tie. He was pretty much on first name terms with the Swiss (ex-Swissair) gate staff and with the cabin staff when we got on the aircraft, speaking to them in Schwyzerdeutsch. He had a tick about not having his usual seat (1D) which was where I was sitting. On arrival in Geneva, he had a car to meet him at the aircraft and graciously invited me to join him on the short drive across the pan to immigration - so he is definitely a Miles & More Hon. Circle member.

We chatted and he was giving me his life story. Ex-RAC myself, and given the story he was telling me, I bounced a couple of names off him who had also been RAC Para Sqn, but he did not know them.

His business card (sitting on my desk as I write) describes him as: "Eric F. Kohn TD, Managing Partner" of a financial services company with offices in Geneva, and gives his phone, home phones, mobile, fax and e-mail address. His website is: Barons Financial Services Personnel _English

Very high powered chap, apparently, as he had (apparently) handled the sale of a major security company recently. This I thought was a touch odd, as I had only had a meeting with the founder of said company not long before Christmas - a company with which I have been working for over 5 years - and he had not said a thing about being sold. I mentioned the name of the founder to Eric Kohn, purely as "my contact within the company" and his response was that he had dealt only with the "top people" and so did not know the chap I was talking about.

We parted at Arrivals in Geneva as he told me he had to dash to catch a train to Taesch (Zermatt) where he had a chalet and his wife was waiting to meet him. I meandered my way to my train for Lausanne. During the journey to Lausanne, I discovered that, due to a problem on the line between Martigny and Brig and, therefore, an inability to reach Taesch via the most direct route, Kohn had been re-routed via Berne. His wife was obviously in for a long wait that night!!""
