Mr. Chard Sir! Patrol has come back, Zulus have gone, all of 'em. It's a miracle! If it's a miracle Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry, point 45 caliber miracle. And a bayonet Sir! With some guts behind it!
I'm currently doing a little research into tattoo's and the army, however not policy regarding them. Instead I am interested in knowing if there are any standard desgins relating to the army/certain regiments in which some decide on getting once in the army? If so pictures would be a great help - providing they are not tatoos adorned upon obscene parts of the human anatomy thank you!

Yes there are some standards...
It must be f ucking awful
It must contain a spelling mistake
It must make the "owner" look like a child drew on him with a crayon while he slept.
Squaddie ink is by definition usually done while the victim s hanging, and is kept in a seperate design book in tattoo parlours marked "only to be opened when requested by p issed up rods, not for general public resale"

Welcome to the site, Lollz.
However, I have a feeling that this will all end in tears!
Once did a course with a guy from 59 commando Sqn who had a tat of the commando dagger on his arm, unfortnately the tattooist didn't know exactly what he was supposed to be drawing so the guy ended up with a black bricky's trowel on his arm. On the plus side the guy was a bricky :D
I agree that he was more then likely turned down because he left twice. Although not only is that tatt overly huge and in the wrong place it is also fucking awful. But then again, he does look like a member of a tribe, hence the reason for that heap of shit he's had drawn on him.
One of the CSgt's in my battalion has so many tatts on his arcms that they look blue (the colour, not the dirty word). But, as stated, my CSgt's tatts don't show whilst wearing dress uniform.
There are two discrepencies with his story though. He say's he left the Para's after a year. There's a minimum 4 years service from your 18th birthday or when you enlist. Which means he was either discharged or was a jack cnut. And he also added that the Paras are crying out for people. They don't cry out for anyone. I suspect he was told no because he was a complete throbber.
I remember getting a (small) tattoo whilst an apprentice tradesman at Chepstow......got caught, in front of (THE) Old man (CO) £80 fine, 12 days ROP's and a regy entry
Aaaah, those were the days, coming back from Barry Island on the train, still pished and one limb wrapped up in cling film...
(That would have been the first weekend of the month only, obviously.)
I've got no problems with tattoos, think some of them can be quite good looking. But the rules clearly state that Tats visible whilst on parade aren't acceptable. It's a simple rule, he should have been aware of, he's been in the the Army twice ffs!
