Re: Slingsby takes off again
a quick thought. should a bear (slingsby?) have a 'special occasions' uniform? If he gets invited to some significant event, should there be appropriate attire? I would think that it would only be required for one bear, but it could perhaps add a certain quality his attendance at a significant event.
perhaps a 'rupert' bear (geddit?) would be suitable for this insted of slingsby?

Re: Slingsby takes off again
I was thinking that very thought today (it's a slow work day). Maybe a bear should have a Mess Dress for formal occasions? Complications of jacket design, buttons, cummerbund, medals, kilt? might make it complicated, but what does the team think?

Re: Slingsby takes off again
I have indeed had that thought, and wondered about trying to exert a little leverage on a certain military tailor at Deepcut. Alternatively, a talented needle-person could certainly have a go!
Just Slingsby, I think, for several reasons - and held in QM stores against "special events" rather than as "travelling kit".
Advice from AAC members would be needed as to whether -
a. Sgts have Dress Blues?
b. If Mess Kit would be appropriate?
The killer will be getting the buttons etc, in terms of both size and cost - and I'm trying to find an image on Google

Re: Slingsby takes off again
Indeed ... why not?
Some detailed work and advice from someone no too much like MDN would be helpful. The Lord Flasheart springs to mind.

Gundolph! What are you doing to that bear???
QM's - do we have EOD kit in small bear size in stock
Actually, Amy is a tough cookie and probably didn't want Gundolph to feel bad about shaking in his boots :D ......hehehehe....."Each of us has the freedom to make of our own lives what we will, but... we also have the obligation to treat each other with dignity and respect." - Barack Obama

Re: Slingsby takes off again
I have full PPE, demining equipment and also an Ebex-420PB at hand but she was lost inside it all and the detector was far too heavy for her, so we opted just for a visit to the edge of the mined area, I think she was happy enough with that
