You can change the face of it to suit but the bottom line is that it was a ball of snow, no pain, no injuries. Yes its not a good thing to throw snow at someone but I would hope (and i can't be certain) that i might have reacted differently.

Fastmedics gripe with me is that i questioned the authenticity of his story, maybe that was wrong but it was just a thought. I'm sure that in the cold light of day even he will think he overreacted, no matter how much fan mail he gets.

Well said Fastmedic! Floppyjocky - my actions on are this, in a situation like Fastmedic was in you make your decision and stick with it. We as fellow brothers in arms provide support and if present, go firm ready to engage those who may wish to support their chav chum. Not the Civvie, Liberal back stabbing way I grant you but it's OUR way and it's worked well for a long time. We stick together and support our own. I was bought up the same way as buggerit in 70's Brum.The local copper knew most of us kids by & who your parents were.If he caught you being naughty,you'd get a clip around the ear & a message"I'll be around to see your dad later" which scared the sh1te out you as you'd then get a hiding later.

A mate of mine is incredibly good at goading people into complete rages.

Some 18-20 year old yoofs were hanging around in his street and being a bit stupid, but he wasn't particularly bothered until one of them insulted his missus as she brought the shopping home.

He went outside and told them to do one, but the just gave him a bit of verbal. He bore in mind the risk of getting done for assault, so he played their game, but with such vicious wit and put downs that the biggest two of them got more and more angry. He saw he was getting a result so he pushed the envelope out yet further until they both snapped and went for him.

He wasn't an ex-anything, he was actually a really nice bloke on the whole but he was hard, incredibly hard.

They both went away in an ambulance and their mates were never seen in his street again. Suffice to say, the witnesses all saw the two guys going to attack our man. Job done.

Maybe you are right Milsum, I really can't say for certain what i would have done.

I think that if the story had been only slightly different then I would probably be patting FM on the back. By that i mean if he had retaliated like for like to start with, maybe from a very close range combined with a very enraged face. Then the chav would have either shat himself or squared up, then you are into self-defence territory and all is fair in love and war. Mr chav would of got his commupence and FM would be able to plead self-defence. all sorted.

I'm with floppy here. A kicking was totally out of proportion. It's not the poor cunt's fault that you had had a bad day. An appropriate response would have been a good bollocking - loud and aggressive.

FM issued an on-the-spot cnut fine in the form of Contact Counseling, but also, at the same time, he gave himself what was obviously some much needed and self-administered Impact Therapy. He killed two birds with one stone so-to-speak. I would hate to see what might have happened had he remained in that angry state of mind and got back in his car - a large, potentially lethal weapon. Instead, he got back in his car a much more relaxed, confident and happy man.

I don't understand what the problem is.
