We go because we are told to , and then when the shoite hits the fan,and those boys get them out they seem whine ..... We did not need their help armed force does not acheive anything the poor poor people of iraq etc .

As far as i am concerned if they want to ignore the advice and obvious news reports and go,then let them its their own fault. Iraq is a warzone and a long way off from the stage where aid workers are welcome ...... UN dosent seem to fancy the place much.......think it was something to do with a truck full of explosives and a drugged up suicide bomber driving . not much has changed in 3 years .

Good god the most offensive twat i heard on Radio four earlier today.

God some of these peaceniks just make me cry sometimes. Should have deliberately killed as many insurgents as possible in the mission then thrown a few clubbed seals into the building just to shut them up.

My favourite one is "There are many organisations working for peace in iraq" - Cause theyve done a fookload of good. As opposed to HM forces who are just there to tan up, get shot at and rescue spanners right?

It always seems to be old retired middle/upper class wnakers that go on to do these things its never ex binmen or bus drivers is it? so it seems the higher the IQ the less common sense these cnuts have,we need a good winter to kill some of these old loons off

Agreed Rhodesian. You can just about understand some students having such a naive view of real life but you'd think that these people would know better. Do they really think that the Mahdi Army / the Chetniks / the Provies / the West Side Boys give a flying f*ck what liberal westerners think (unless it is useful in furthering their cause)? In this case, the old cliche is true. Violence is the only real universal language.

Dont get me wrong Im glad that Kember and his pals are out and Im sorry about Mr. Fox.

All the lads got was:

"I do not believe that a lasting peace is achieved by armed force, but I pay tribute to their courage and thank those who played a part in my rescue,"

To me that roughly translates into:

"Your wasting your time but thanks anyway."

The guys that freed him waited to go in, they risked there lives sitting observing before they moved. Maybe these do-gooders should reflect on the possibility that no action was taken until there was enough intel to say that there would be no bad guys in the building. A bloodless rescue.

Maybe these go it alone peace activists and aid workers should be warned:

Go in, you're on your own. Get caught, your on your own. Need rescuing, you're on your own. Get let go by the bad guys, get to the airport yourself and buy your own ticket.

Yep Who_Dar that's entirely the impression I got from hearing Mr Kember on the news. A real afterthought too after spouting his pious clap-trap justifying his being there. Might as well not bothered. We shouldn't have either.

I think its time to adress all these peace niks going to Iraq on UK passports and expecting to be rescued by the fire brigade.
