Yes except for the public holidays but miraculously people don't go to the GP between the holidays. Plenty are ill before though.

I'd assumed you'd spelt cloisters wrongly.
You do know GP's pay tax don't you? I imagine they aren't limited to holidays in Blackpool and can choose to spend money how they wish.

Do legal requests for medical records count as private work? When I worked in a solicitors' office they did a lot of PI work, so medical records requests were routine. Surely it should be part of their public duties?

Well my surgery certainly aint. 08:00-17:00 Mon-Fri (except Thursday, when it shuts at noon) and it's open Saturday morning for 3 hours max - but you need to be virtually dead to see a doc on Saturday. It's often quicker to go and sit for 5 hours at the local NHS walk-in centre.

I say "my" surgery but we got back from holiday at the weekend to find 2 "Dear John" letters from the practise. Now I've been with them for over 45 years and SWMBO for 28. BUT we live slightly out of their catchment area now apparently, hence the "Fuck You" letters. No, "If this causes you a problem, please get in touch", or "Here's a list of surgerys near you", just "Go fuck yourself". Caring profession or Cunts?

Mind you, we've noticed, how can I put this politely, that their standards have been slipping of late, (or less politely, they couldn't run a piss up in a brewery, the dozy wankers), and we were thinking of switching practices anyway, so no skin of my conk, eh?
