Great. That'll save shit loads compared with sacking County Council workers employed as 'diversity coordinators' and any other pointless and money-wasting idiots in non-jobs, useless quango members and quangos in general, spin doctors, MPs who are wasting oxygen (Galloway) and the like.

The Lords might need reforming and numbers reducing but there are bigger and better targets out there.

Why can`t doctors turn up for work at, say 08-00, and go home at 17-00. Other "workers"
    do.

Where troughing MPs are concerned, I'd prefer the Regan Method.

Some of them of neccessity would have to man the night shift. Walk on to any golf course, anywhere in the UK, and it will be crawling with overpaid GP`s.

Odd that I've worked with GP's over 20 years and I can't recall one who played golf. I'm not sure how they play golf as most are doing visits between morning and evening surgery and attending meetings, dictating letters, doing referrals etc.
With Labour wanting extended hours some surgeries are open from 0700-2300hrs.

You forgot the abuse of the 'expenses' of up to £50 GP's can claim for providing copies of medical records... Claim the full £50, pocket it and put the cost of the paper and ink somewhere else.

07-00 to 23-00. Bollocks. Even if the surgeries were open there wouldn`t be any quacks in them.

A practice manager who is a friend of mine used to have 3 GP's, now she has 10 and still runs out of appointments due to malingerers. No matter what time you have appointments you'll fill them. Nobody is sick hardly at all between christmas and new year though.
