"Hurrah for the Works Group" just doesn't have the same ring...

"A volunteer is worth ten pressed men."
So, a TA battalion or nine Regular Guards battalions? Not a difficult choice, then (especially as we don't have nine Regular Guards battalions).

Saw loads in 85; how we laughed when they toppled onto their backs as they watched us fly over their colony.

Well, you're supposed to drink it, not pour it in your ear.
We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.

In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

OFFS! When the jackets find one of their number who can read this, they'll all be singing:

    A shovel
    and a pick
    and a penguin chick!

    in no time!
