I think Buzz has a point. We need a flaming session - much better than the USMC one, which had its moments, but was a bit TA, to be honest.
Someone lurking could do better than that.

It does get a bit repetitive - hence why a lot of the posters are always usernames created in the last month or two ago. A lot of the oldies have heard it all before (inc me in my former username).
Some borderline boiler will get a bit of media coverage, and you can almost bet your life savings on a thread appearing next day "(Insert Borderline Boiler) - Would you?"
How vvaannmmaann hasn't got bored of posting Daily Mail / Telegraph links after this long I'll never know.
But to be totally honest, I think the thing I miss the most are the stories. Taff49's exploits in Hong Kong, Vertical Gyros many tales of fine swordsmanship and examples that I could sit and read all day.
I think the problem is that a newbie comes across ARRSE, gets a flavour for the 'humour' (by humour, I mean the incredible amount of pointless bollocks that people feel they simply have to post), then posts along the lines of what he/she has just read - which just happens to be yet another Daily Mail link or some bird with tits.
I think the most disappointing bit about it, is after someone's spent a good deal of time writing a good tale of the good times in their military prime as they remember it, no sooner is it posted it drops off the page because of the sheer amount of bone threads about outrage / naked chick / walt / wanker stories (and their inevitable one word replies "what 'ee said", "I would", "You are XXX and I claim my XXX" etc).
I know my reply wasn't funny, but hey - I'm assuming the OP was posing the question to get some kind of response right?Last edited by DavidCameron; 03-06-2012 at 00:12.

There is no question so obviously stupid that it prevents one supposedly intelligent human from asking it of another.
Likewise, there is no human problem that cannot be solved by the correct application of the appropriate quantity of high explosive, the suitable quantity being derived by the Formula P, where P = "plenty"
