Cheers to all the brits! Good allies (even though f-ing difficult to understand all the accents!).

I can't think of a better Head-of-state, and there is no way I would replace her with a self-serving politician.

    God* save the Queen!

*Who I don't actually believe in BTW.

Fair point but you're forgetting that if she does abdicate and Charles III takes the throne, we're sorted for a Coronation medal. So if you're into more bling, it's really a win-win and imagine the discussions we can have about the qualifying criteria. Happy days.

ah now what if charles then abdicates the english throne but keeps the scottish and welsh ones for a bit so he still gets to lord around while favorite son gets the flag of st george and we get a permanent presence up noorth to wind president salmond up. a few more years and more celebrations and medals when he pops off and willy gets the rest of the estate.
what the world needs is an enema, make that two - just to give it a sense of purpose.

US electoral democracy is just a structured system of legalised bribery.

a senior Chinese officer has said, “all the great nations in the world own aircraft carriers – they are symbols of a great nation”. That’s why China has just commissioned its first. By the same token, to opt for a “carrier gap” of some years is to abandon your responsibilities.

Except for two things. One, the Queen Elizabeth coronation medal was not issued to all and sundry. Only a certain amount were given, a bit like the Silver Jubilee Medal. And it's very unlikely he will become Charles III. More likely George VII will be the title he takes.
I can say the name of that railway station in Wales, as well.

Possibly, but a modern precedent has been set by the general issue of the QGJM and the QDJM to all and sundry. What's the reasoning behing George VII? I know that George VI was Albert and Edward VIII was David, but Charles is a previous King's name, so what's the issue?
