    It'll be that WO1 (AcSM) R P Huggins (ret'd) leading them on. He always struck me as a wrong 'un.

    Chelsea Pensioner, SSM Smudge Smifff, was the first to arrive at the top of the structure.
    He stated to eager representatives of the press that "that Irish b*st*rd said there was beer up here, but I didnt find any"
    On being asked about the safety aspect of going so high on a lift at his advanced age (105) the BOER WAR veteran replied "What lift?"
    I used to lead retreats, mate!

    Again the news focuses on the fact that these were ex-servicemen, I think they may have misheard the promise of a nice cup of Holicks after the visit.
