Probably, being all ninja stealthy black is a moot point anyway once you are trying to smash a front door down.

I've also seen them in yellow and blue. Though they were different sized ones.

We are still talking about enforcers aren't we?

This is simply some offshoot C19 unit who want to 'walk the walk', and are revelling this morning their pictures have been in the paper and they have been mistaken for 'them'.

It was known from quite early on this bloke was carrying some sort of propane type device. Where is the body protection for any potential overflash?
They the sfo's walk and talk the walk. Remit is to deal with terrorist and/or criminals with exceptional firepower or so dangerous they can't be dealt by any other means. They train and do this

I was able to get on the roof and observe the activity - if you were watching the 24 hour news you would have seen the shots.

The cordon was expanded beyond what would be regarded as a safe area for the public - not to protect them but stop observers recording the outcome of a forced entry.

I saw plain clothes police wandering around in with full chest rigs over their jeans and sweatshirts with Shemaghs wrapped around their heads, literally dripping with kit. The last time I saw people affecting the same look and this tooled up was when, in different hot country, I happened upon a UK SF patrol by accident. I wonder whether the boys from CO19 took their lead from these images.

They looked like cowboys... they were posing for the snappers and judging by the reaction to a certain solicitor's circumstances a while back are still acting like it.
SFO's need and use the kit. They do around 500 jobs a year. Maybe more before TST teams

99.9% being the ones not firearms authorised I assume? AFO's in the Met would be around 2-3%. ~700 of ~33,000, CO 19 having 550.

The reason we remember the incidents where they shot someone is because their are rare. On average they fire their weapons twice a year, but dealt with 1000's of jobs

I don't know who you are Mrjondoe but if you're a copper (which might explain the late hour of your posting), welcome, and don't get sucked in.
