If the above statement is all truth I can't believe we're having this discussion but there you go... You have your opinion and I have mine.

I'll now invite you to join me in no longer derailing a good armed plod bashing!

My inbox is always open if you feel the urge to further comment.

Those political classes made up of party servants who never held a job outside of the party machine obviously needed protecting and ACPO being publicly funded provided the trough to ensure that the greasy pole was there for them to climb.
The recent Winsor announcements have done much to turn this around as rank and file plod realise that they are all to be sacrificed for the senior officers pay and german sports car.
Now dont get me wrong its not a job I would do and yes I did work in counter terrorism and it isnt (wasnt black and white) i do expect that those paid to uphold the law actually do so even if it means they take enormous risks (after all they can always resign and write a book). The risk to this country of terrorism has only grown through Princess Tonys sandpit adventures and could have been totally avoided if the man had an ouce of integrity as Harold Wilson did when refusing to even endorse US action in Vietnam.

Now thats the history lesson dealt with but please dont tell me that its all about personal security. There cant be that many live in tower hamlets and often as with NI you can detain the suspect until formally arrested by a uniform officer. The problem comes when in 2 or 3 years after the arrest the suspect is released and compensated because the copper detaining him broke the law/guidance by not having a badge number on display!

Have it your way balaklava and all. Its a sorry state of play when plod break the law!
Not to burst your bubble but its not against any ''law'' if an officer doesn't display his ID. If you point out to a corden of coppers that PC X isn't wearing his epaulettes the rest of his PSU arn't going to jump on him and sling him in the bully van.

[QUOTE=geezer466;4367708]The tattoo is a low key Chinese motif like thing (favoured by Beckham). Some years ago Old Bill relaxed the rules. Some tattoos low key no offensive or racial stuff was allowed if it would usually be covered by normal uniform.]

    Hi Geezer,

I imagine the relaxation of the tattoo rule must have been more long standing or at least selective as very few ex-service would have got into the police otherwise.

Since at least 1997 you could join with tattoos.

As long as they could be covered by uniform and did not interfere with duties (you can imagine the sort of thing that would be prohibited, i guess).

You still have to send photographs of tattoos with your application.

Sorry Ugly, as much as I love your usual posts, but the wall of silence from an Asian or Black community in relation to a shooting easily matches a PIRA situation. In some cases more so as it goes back to te dusty shothole that the family of said scrote hail from

Is that someone's uniform dating profile photo?

In fact, if you overlay this photo and the bloke in the balaclava at the start of the thread....

Stick a peaked cap on that and a shirt tie and black tunic and it could be Sir Ian Blair.......
