She saw out her service as a sniping instructor with SASC at Warminster and was fundamental in the invention of the port arms movement with the SA80

She resigned her commission after being caught pissing on a pile of cannonballs outside the Sultan of Omans house by Felicity Kendal, she was part of the Sultans CP team but did a deal over stock piles of malt loaf and kept the story from the press.
Funny you should mention Fliss Kendall, because her old buddy from 'The Good Life', Penelope Keith, founded the SAS.

Ms. Keith signed up with the ATS at the start of the war, but when she found out that she couldn't go in to combat she went AWOL and signed up with the Scots Guards using the nom de guerre 'David Stirling'.

The rest as they say, is history.

I have it on good authority that Broon had to have an arsehole transplant.

    Unfortunately the arsehole rejected him.

The last Defence Secretary to have served was of course Tom King (National Service commission with the Somerset Light Infantry / King's African Rifles). Was still bloody useless, mind.

Crispin Jeremy Rupert Blunt MP for Reigate (where else?). Captain in the13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own).

A lovely bloke and always ready to listen and do something for you. However... you couldn't make it up could you? Crispin? FFS! Who would want to burden their kiddie with a name like that? Rupert? Captain? MP for Reigate, Surrey? Jolly hocket sticks old boy. Says it all.

Off thread a bit; His wife's quite fit if I remember.
