Made a point of not reading the " Stumpy and Auld Sapper " thread over the past few days until I had got my copy in case of accidental " spoilers " and last night opened this ...

What are you reading right now?

it was nearly a case of baaaaaaaastards but fortunately smartascarrots disclosed nothing detailed about the content ..... then my copy arrived today .... hope the Press Reviews result in many reprints ... and now I am off to read for a while .

[QUOTE=Auld_Sapper;4460029]Just been raking through my file system ( box in the spare room) and came across some paperwork from long, long ago and found a kind of diary thing which is basically dribbling pish but in the back I found a list of the various units me and the psychopathic, epileptic, civvy hating poison dwarf worked with. There's quite a few and sadly a lot of them don't exist any more. They're not in any particular order and were included on the list if we searched with them or had at least one session on the pish together."

    (List cut)

God, this could last longer than Flashman . . . come to think of it: "Flashman and Stumpy on the road to Mandalay". Hell, I'd pay a couple of quid just for the book cover.

Mine arrived yesterday and a proper smart piece of design and production it is. Looking forward to reading it like a proper book (the review copy was electronic). I could have sworn I asked for "Marry me lovely Iron Duke" as my dedication but it would seem I asked for "You ruined my life you little fucking bitch". Strange.

Got my copy yesterday and couldnt put it down, 17yrs since I left the "pet corp" and it took me straight back to the joys of Melton / Balykelly and a unit of lads that took the mickey out of everything, especially us in the RAVC. Brilliant book well done Derms

Still no book here. Think the whole thing is an enormous WAH!
And this you can see is the bolt. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can slide it
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
Easing the spring. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call it easing the Spring.
They call it easing the Spring: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your thumb: like the bolt,
And the breech, and the cocking-piece, and the point of balance,
Which in our case we have not got; and the almond-blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going backwards and forwards,
For today we have naming of parts.
