This was the best race for years, I had a mythical 50/1 that they would cut his fucking head of, 250/1 on the wankers breaking an oar and 1000/1 on one of theOxbridge crew having a heart attack (of course as it was mythical there was no heart to attack in the first place).

I was talking to several friends of mine who went to oxford yesterday, and they were united in their condemnation of the pillock who disrupted the race. They weren’t privately educated, they worked hard and did their utmost to get into the college beacause it represented a beacon of values, and was a place of learning and reward for being educated (e.g. everything that our inner city schools are not thanks to the PC campaigners).
They made the point that months of effort had been spent on this, with blood, sweat and tears being the order of the day during the training period. They weren’t angry at loosing, but at seeing people who wanted to try to achieve something tangible, which is a feat of physical endurance and teamwork and a desire to excel being disrupted by a complete cunt.
The reality is that all of society is elitist in some way – each segment of society has an unwritten set of rules and conduct and will not let others in. We have some people who sneer because Oxford sets high standards, but these same people would doubtless proclaim their working class backgrounds and suggest that an Oxford grad wouldn’t last 5 minutes down their pit etc – personally I’d ask what the difference is? Some of the most snobby, class and status obsessed people I’ve met have been working class. Rightly proud of their jobs in life, they create little cliques to which outsiders are not welcome, and to which unless you’ve been down t’pit or ‘assembled t’sanitary towel’ you aren’t worthy of joining their group. The harsh truth is that the working classes are just as snobbish and arrogant and up their own arrses as the so-called toffs, but they just won’t admit to it.
My fiancé went to Oxford due to bloody hard work. I didn’t go because I was a lazy scrote and didn’t work hard enough. I want my children to go to Oxford (or maybe Cambridge), not because I’m a toff (I don’t think being the son of two social workers, and coming from a long line of working class Methodists and east end barrow boys qualifies me as a toff), but because I want my kids to be the best that they can be and achieve their full potential and not see it wasted in some hellhole of a comprehensive, where children run out of control and many lives are ruined due to some pillocks desire for ‘equality’.

You will also find that their drunken revelry 30 years ago was at their parents expense , not the public purse
