I used to do things in the Army that I thought were important, for moderate pay and minimal recognition.
Now I do things that I don't think are particularly important, for massive compensation and with a great reputation.
If it was not about keeping a couple of dozen good people with an income, I'd be running a cross country skiing/mountain biking/hiking/climbing sports hotel in the Alps...and spending more time interfering with my scuba diving businesses...

I make cocktails and pour champagne for 'Only Way Is Essex', 'Geordie Shore' type slappers who think they're brilliant. They are, in fact, cunts. I also clean a lot of things and polish a pointlessly shiny bar top until early in the morning for very little pay. That comes after putting up with said slags and listening to the same fucking songs week in, week out.
My shifts vary greatly, but almost without fail I'll be working at the weekend, so most of my posts are during the week.'So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch.'

I'm a Computer Network Engineer by trade, so I occasionally get out and actually do stuff, but a lot of what I do can be done from my spare room/"office". I do remote admin for the local branch offices of a couple of multinationals, and I look after a couple of websites. Fibreop BB has been a real Godsend.

Generally I have Outlook on Screen 3.
Losing MegaUpload was a bit of a pain, but I took the plunge and actually paid for Dropbox. I frequently have to do version changes on large AutoCAD documents so it's pretty useful.
Being at work in one's pyjamas is most definitely FTW, as the young 'uns say.
Blackberry is the dogs too. No matter where I am or what I'm doing I can reliably get a phone call or email if someone needs me to do something.
In the financial year so far I have earned £1610 just fixing fuck-ups caused by iTunes, so, erm, thanks Mr Steve "Blow" Jobs. Your ideas have paid for an excellent holiday.Last edited by SauceDoctor; 22-02-2012 at 23:19.
