I've seen enough Hentai to know how this ends...

It says at the top Long Luck in Battle along the top at the 4 o'clock position it is a pray for enduing the hard fight, 5, 6 and 7 O'clock are family names, 8 o'clock Congratulations on Joining the Army, 9 o'clock a wish for successive victories. By my reckoning that is a case of ASAHI super dry you owe me!

Oh, the other thing Padre. The other thing is that my team leader here, he was born a Hebrew, and remains a practicing Christ-killer. So it's purely out of respect for him I feel as if I'm going to have to forgo your festive rituals."

Thanks for all this help - and humorous replies, I'm going to try to get it mounted with a translation.

Its a senninbari flag, they're quite rare. Made by Japanese women as a good luck token for Tojo.

    Good spot,

This has more info, pretty interesting.

Nambu World: Good Luck Flags (Hinomaru yosegaki))

I was rather worried it would say, "stolen by the British scum who bayoneted 23 POW cooks."

You say that, and I digress, but if fish had tits, I might be coerced to try fishing once...

Well done, just saw this thread and recognised the last character on the title line as "Bu" for war/battle straight away.

My kanji and katakana are atrocious and my conversational Nihongo is velly rusty these days.
