In life there are always the unfortunate ones. Despite trying to be plastic British by living in London, you will never be British....accept it and have our sympathies.

A gentleman doesn't need a firearm except occasionally for matters of honour and reminding uppity colonials of their place.
Sheer force of nobility will usually suffice.
If it's been sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk then I'm probably pissed. We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.
In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

If I were an American living in this country I think anywhere other than London'd be a nightmare.

Oh, sure, especially in London. We get the odd drive-by or two occasionally, although, of course, nothing on the scale of the average Californian city.

I think you're rather underselling Britain. I"ve heard you can get hold of guns and drugs in Moss Side and Glasgow, and some of our politicians can be just as wacky.
