One of my basic training instructors once said "We didn't drag you out of your fucking house and force you to come here. You are absolutely right of course, soldiers today soft as sh*t. They are, however, too busy fighting wars to worry about barrack room bullsh*t (posted from DII so can't attach a smilie thingy)

I was at the guardroom many years ago for failing to salute an officer that was behind me, as a crow you just got on with it and shinfed to your mates.

Last year I was inspecting a staff parade and had about 15 odd blokes who were there for having the wrong colour woolly hats and other stupid things.
