OK - I'll take 1/3 of a point for Bert Burns, Ciggie can have 1/3 pt for Solomon Burke and Jerry Wexler is still up for grabs - seeing as it was a three way collaboration. Ciggie gets the full point for the why. Seems fair.

Don't tell Western but Solomon Burke had a lifelong association with the RC church and was a favourite of JP2 and Benny the Rat - the song is clearly a thinly coded encouragement to abuse systemically choir boys and cover the acts up by conspiracy.

    Daddy-pig says "Snoort!"

They used to say if an infinite number of chimps typed we would get the works of Shakespeare, the internet has proved this is NOT the case...

I'm a Bad Man for using Wikipedia for this answer - Joseph Day, building on the work of Dugald Clerk - but found this footnote irresistible:
"(and Frederick Cock for the piston-controlled inlet port)".

I love the various rhythms of a Lambretta engine at idle, don't you?

Minnesota contains all of the letters of Maine.

South Dakota also contains all of the letters in Utah and North Carolina contains all of the letters in Ohio

Oh I see, Arkansas, what a gash question.

Frederick Cock is appropriately named, given the hours, if not cumulative days of my life I have spent fighting with 2-stroke engines on mopeds as a kid, leaf blowers, string trimmers, outboard motors etc. They're great when they're new, or just serviced, and complete BASTARDS to start at other times. I vowed never to get another. Until my latest boat, with a V6 2-stroke, which goes like shit off a shovel, but I am not looking forward to unwinterizing it next year!
