He won't answer that question, can any of you?

(Bit of background on the discussion below.)

You failed to answer my earlier question about getting a job, and I'm sad to learn you are, in fact 80% disabled.

So with your disability, what can you do work wise? Perhaps someone on here has a job you could do.

May I ask, what do you do to help yourself in this matter? It seems to me that in this day and age where people do marathons in wheel chairs, climb mountains on crutches and are in the forces in war zones without limbs surely this must be an encouragment to the disabled to achieve rather than 'sponge'? Do you do any voluntery work within you are of disability?

After all, Stephen Harwkin is pretty much as disabled as they get and he still had a full-time job, so why can't you and your ilk do more for themselves?
As bazz says, done many times.

    But to reiterate.

    I have worked.
    I look for work.
I am more than willing to work - but for less than 30 hours would mean negative income. 30 hours is the minimum that would not see me accruing mounting debt.

Why am I not working? I have tried my hardest over the years to gain employment, including offering the government scheme where for four weeks they don't pay me a wage. The answer is that employers do not see me as a viable employee.

Now. Should I lie by omission. After all, I am not legally bound to tell anyone of my illness. And if I lie, why shouldn't I lie big, become a train driver or utilise my HGV.

Finally, the question noone has been able to answer. Why, when I have the work ethic to spend six hours in one day at my school; leaflet, canvas and contribute to meetings at the level I am. Why do I put up with the minimal lifestyle I have instead of getting the renumeration I could gain with the training I have had?

I await your answer Sticky, with interest. So long as it considered and fair.

I do hope he declares that to the benefits agency, "have you done any work, paid or unpaid in the last 2 weeks?"

Handing out leaflets and canvassing is work you know?

Give me your details Whet, I will pass it on to the people who give you a free lifestyle.
In all fairness and accuracy, Whet can do volunteery work as a disabled person without it affecting his benefits. Do you think people actually can get paid to put leaflets through letter boxes or canvess? I'm pretty sure Stephen Hawking couldn't do that sort of work, so that's one less person in competion should such activities actually be paid jobs.

Falling asleep every now and again isnt really a disability though is it?

He could work in the council call centre, they never answer the phone anyway, so being asleep at his desk would not be picked up on.

My bold, think you'll find you can and many people do get paid for such.

Cos he's a lazy fat twat who gets paid by the state to be a lazy fat twat.
Hmm, is this why he is worried that labour will lose the next election and the new govt might actually discourage scroungers?
I sincerely hope so the fat waddling lump of lard hasn't had a job in 10 years, The fat git manages to run a car and the internet though (as apparently they are essentials).

I watched a documentary once about The Narcolepsy Society(?) and at their monthly meetings, they have to have three people to take the Minutes to avoid anything being missed due to nodding off.

I pissed myself laughing then and laugh out loud when I think of it today. It was the funniest piece of TV I've ever seen. :D

Drive a car with narcolepsy? Isn't that a tad dangerous?

Re: If this disabled man can get a job, why can't Whet?

All he has to do is find a job he likes - perhaps airline pilot isn't a good idea - apply for it, although he needs to have a realistic aspiration and knowledge of how his condition affects him - and any job.

Admittedly he'd have to find a job suited for his qualifications (if any) and then A/ see if the employer carries the 2 ticks symbol, B/ ensure his application process highlights his ABILITY to do the job - then when he has claimed the mandatory interview (cos he has the minimum qualification for the role)... Get interviewed and ensure he can present a typically cynical employer that he is the best and how to overcome the issue he has.

Look at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Disabled...sandProgrammes for any options available to him - and apply for the funding for any alterations or support to the workplace etc. Blind the future employer with his shit-togetherness and impress them with his knowledge of the routes open to them if alterations are necessary..

He needs to talk to the Disability Employment Officer at Jobcentre plus too..

Before I hear the coughing in the background from all you mong hunters and biff kickers out there. I left the Army with epilepsy, which caused me to break my spine, which killed off not only one career but my marriage. But even with Epilepsy, spinal injury and wheelchair use, deafness in one ear from a 120mm boomin' off AND the recent effects of diabetes... I completed two degrees and have a reasonably paid job in local government.... Now, all he has to do is say - "what do I want to do?" and "where do I look for support if necessary?"

Rather than come on here and ask you lot!
"Boys! You gotta learn not to talk to nuns that way!"
