Never mind all this exotic food. Our dinner's usually 'Bread and Pull It' with a portion of 'Hobson's Choice'.

By the way, I hope no one is still listening to any music written by swinish German composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Bach or, worst of all, that beastly fellow Wagner.
In 1953 the UK Defence Budget was 11.3% of GDP. By 1966 it had shrunk to 6.6%. In 2013 it is hovering around 2%. Good job we're no longer expected to fight any wars, isn't it?

I belive one of he newly formed "special units" as ordered by Winnie uses Wager as it's Reggy march
We should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.

That'll be very impressive - as they sweep onto the victory day parade, in line abreast, riding these things :D :

There's something very British about that notion

[2010] Sadly, a bit too close to the truth. Some of the RN's finest EOD boys were killed or maimed when one of the first German magnetic mines to be recovered exploded at Vernon during exploitation in 1939. [/2010]

Is it scrim or no scrim on the battle bowlers this season.

Bring back the days in peaceful India with Pith helmets.
Some days you wake and immediately start to worry. Nothing in particular is wrong, it's just the suspicion that forces are aligning quietly and there will be trouble ahead..... Formally known as Mucus, before I lost the log in....

Well two days of digging and searching in the general area and we still haven't found the cunting leak. Surely there must be technology more accurate than a grumpy old bloke in a yellow hi-vis coat, wielding a length of dowelling on a thread bobbin and claiming there may be a leak in the generic area known as "under there"?

We've just had some bread issued, it came in a sack tagged 'Tuesday' - any idea which one?

We're sending some over to the AT Troop to see if they can do anything with their 2 pounders to it - we may have got our first applique armour for the Crusaders
Another bloody ex-crab or non serving war monkey......

And there's me in my slouch hat, with my SLR and greens.....

Bring back dragging lesser countries into the morning sunlight of the Queen Empress's enlightened rule.....( Huzza, by Jingo! ) with apologies to Goat chap

    Ahem.

Erm, I say old boy, I don't suppose you... ...how can I put this? I don't suppose you would by any chance happen to have some form of, say, mail order address through which one could purchase the omnibus edition of the young filly's adventures, do you?

Also, is it, not to put too fine a point on it, 'expurgated' at all? Or is said volume complete in every accidentally-disrobed detail?
I have obtained a copy of that 'Lady Chatterley's Lover,' you know, the one that's banned from printing in blighty, and it's the full unabridged version. I could be open to offers old man, but I must warn that it's very very hot stuff, some would say decidedly pornographic, but it also has some literary merit.
I didn't say it was your fucking fault, I said I was blaming you.

I'm only responsible for what I say...not what you understand.

Let us hope they never get a crack at an airstrip the size of Milton Keynes.

Or big huge 'V'' shaped planes capable of going over a big sea.

If that were to happen, sheep would be bricking it, no error. Cos thats what they mostly bombed.
