I found out a lad I was at school with died in a car accident the other day. Initially, I felt symapthy. But when I learnt that he'd died whilst speeding home, drunk after a night out, my mood changed to one of mild displeasure and relief that he'd only managed to kill himself.

I can remember when a young lad was mowed down trying to cross the road to watch a football match, and the Police told the public not to lay flowers... because of public safety!
