I sometimes wonder why I bother. Give people the exciting news about rare breeds and it gets turned into a cooking programme!

    Ah, splendid! Bonfire night already.
No sooner did we form into teams than we were re-organised.
I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet every situation by re-organising and what a wonderful method it is for giving the illusion of progress whilst only producing confusion, inefficiency & demoralisation.

You're confusing Wyverns with the Phoenix. Addled ol' fule.

I once owned a Wyvern - (over half a century ago!!!) a car made by a well known British manufacturer.

It was quite old and I had to be careful when washing it as a layer of rust came off each time. I think it was designed in the days when the term "planned obsolescence" was coined.

However it was adequate for my purposes. It had a large, sofa-like bench front seat, no floor-mounted gear handle to get in the way
(steering column change and a handbrake by the driver's door). The heater was inefficient but I could compensate for that.

To relive anything I can remember of those times I think I need to emulate a Phoenix.

(My chin keeps falling on my chest - I must have a little nap!).

Nap? When our gallant boys are striving on a snowy Roman pitch? I give up!
I drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty.

Catch a train to a plane
    to a place overseas.
    Over clouds over fields
    over rivers and trees.
    And they're serving me coffee
    to put me at ease.
    'Cos I'm drifting without you
    borne on the breeze.
    From my home!

You're a master of understatement there,Mr. K. It's enough to make you weep. You'd think they'd never played since schooldays!

Just lulling the Wops into a sense of false security.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

I didn't say it was your fucking fault, I said I was blaming you.

Luckily someone lulled them into leaving their kicking boots in the shed!
