And my favourite story about the callow youths that turn up in to work in Hong Kong for the many companies with HQ's there and for whom there is usually an "ice breaking" party shortly after their arrival. it goes like this:

The Spaniards have reduced this to a fine art. All you have to say is "tu padre" (your father) or "tu madre" (your mother) and the rest is understood - e.g. "me cago en la leche de tu madre" (I sh*t in your mother's milk). "Tu puta madre" (Your mother, the whore) is also good.

Not being a trained killer like so many here, of course, I haven't bothered trying it out on real Spaniards...

Cous in some Arabic dialects, effectively translates as cnut which might go some way to explain why qoous in Modern Standard Arabic translates as rainbow.

Think about that the next time your in Apu's mini-mart and ask for the cous-cous.

Apu is a devout Hindu Indian from Kolcatta (I believe. ) He is in no way Arabic, nor to my knowledge, does he speak the language (perhaps a smattering of Parsi or even Urdu) When not running KwikeMart or spawnig exorbitant broods of children, he can be spotted praying to monkeys or studting Rosetta stone. He has even been known to default to rapid-fireSlovenian when vexed, but certainly NOT Arabic of either the North African or Saudi dialect. He may, however, carry some Arabic DNA , dating back to the Moghul Dynasties, or through intermarriage with Muslims down through the generations (unlikely)but he would more likely carry the Persian genome ( non- arabic with a few exceptions) if anything other than Aryan/Dravidian mixture. Editerd to add; With his facial features and alphabet-name, one could safely assume he is of Dravidian (likely Tamil) stock.

I simply was too stupid to think of his Arabic eqivalent, I thought your average ARRSER really would be too stupid to know otherwise!!

And I would rather bugger my own child than be elected as an MEP for some party prevalent 'ooop north.' Or does that ammount to the same thing?
