Whilst I have a huge amount of time for the HAC and their attached Special Constabulary, the Light Cavalry contain some of the biggest knobbers that I have ever met. Quite frankly I am amazed that they have not been detached from Armoury House and sent to join the LOF; but I am probably stretching the point; but not by much.

Errm, I have to confess to knowing of Andy Charalambous (aka Dr Earth) and frankly find the revelations on this thread, err, not at all surprising. He is just the sort of chap that gives the HAC (even the LC!) and Specials a bad name. The only citation missing form his credentials is that of the Honorary Grand Crux of the Order of St. Walt of Waltenburg, Crowned prince-priest of the gnostic Waltican monks of Waltonia (First Class, recorded delivery).

He has almost never been seen on police duty, other than occasional masquerades within the safe confines of the HAC, and in spite of several years of claiming to be a special constable has not in fact concluded his elementary training to allow him to undertake a duty without close supervision. His attendance at the HAC is normally portended by the aparition of Halley's Comet, such is its frequency, and it is clear from his list of other "interests" and claims that he only joined the HAC/LC/Specials to fuel his bizarre walter-lust or in the mistaken belief that those venerable institutions are run amuck by the tit-and-slipper brigade. Luckily his prospective seat is a safe labour one!

So on balance I would say that the following claims are highly dubious:

As for the other references to Knights templar, order of Stanislas etc they are obviously waltesque, and we all remember the "titles for a tenner" where meaningless manorial titles were flogged off hence "lord of the manor of Sutton Suffolk".
