Discuss DUBLIN in The NAAFI Bar on The Army Rumour Service; you learn something new every day (the italian job). It is also where the leaders of the 1916 rising were imprisoned & shot....
Reading this thread is bringing back memories for me, not the pub names, a lot of them were not around when I lived there. Born in Abbey Street, most of my early life was spent on the norths side of the Liffey, a rich life in a city of characters. There were a few pubs on Capel Street, Dobsons for one, this was where all the births, weddings and funerals ended, at least for those left standing!!! Not adding anything to this thread but just had to say it
Fishwife wanted, she must be able to bait a hook, catch, gut and cook fish. She must have a prestigious car and a good boat. Please send photo of car and boat.
Fraid not, left Abbey Street in '56 and ended up in Little Korea (Ballyfermot), from there I joined up and only went back a few times. When I did go back my drinking was in the Abbey St Capel St area or Ballyfermot.
