I don't fancy fighting way through crowds, only to try & watch the Paris parade through a Periscope, so am looking for other places that have a half-decent parade.

Anyone know where in N.E. France does such a thing ?.

Lille - Valenciennes - Amiens - basically 2hrs from coast is do-able.

As far as I know the only parade is in Paris. Everywhere else there are fireworks and balls, but you would have to contact the local tourist information office to find out.

Unless you get up really early or have a ticket, the best view for Paris is on the television. However you could try going to a rehearsal, here is last year's programme:

I have a hazy and probably incorrect impression that there is a mil parade in Orange...but that's more than 2 hours from the coast ?
