On a serious note

Eventually sorted out a leather cover for my Galaxy 2, (nothing fancy) and I feel more comfortable about it's longevity.
The camera is the dogs danglies, the apps kick in fast, it's intuitive to use, it hooks up to the Internet very quickly and I'm glad I got it.
Downsides are minimal. There are some apps embedded which I'll never ever use, and cannot delete unless I Jailbreak the thing, and some people have complained that they get an echo when I call, but that may be my location and not the phone.
I'm very happy with it. Recommended. If you are an ex-serviceman or woman who wants to network mutual commercial interests, you can PM me for an invite to join the new ARRSE Business Group.

Well, the Galaxy S3 has just been released, and the iPhone 5 is still "just around the corner"......
btw, if you're after a good robust case for your smartphone, try an Otterbox. I have the commuter model for my Galaxy S2 and it has done really well for the last nine months. They also do a Defender range which is even tougher, but massive.

I like the idea of the Samsung but does it still feel so cheap and plasticky?

I haven't got my hands on an S3, but one man's cheap and plasticky is another man's light and portable. Or something.
Stick it in an Otterbox and it'll just look vaguely military instead. (while still being slim and light).
