Love the way they write as they speak! reminds me of Corunna Coy at shornecliffe and having 2 weeks to learn that "Eye'll Pat youre Bills!" was not a sexual come on!
I too would like to be free of the electronic nanny. Maybe when I emigrate I can ditch it!

I'm embarrassed tha tI've missed this thread for so long.
I've e-mailed my local MP and I'm now sending ot do the Daily Record & other Scots Papers.

They deserve a national tribute and none is more fitting than a state funeral.

I sat and watched the programme with my 11 year old boy - who hasn't taken any interest before in anything, usually a little gobshite who doesn't give a toss about anything - anyway, he sat still and quiet and transfixed and immeadiately as the programme finished he turned to me and asked if I would take him to the Imperial war museum - we are going this saturday and then he will attend my parade on sunday. I think He has finally been humbled. I know I was.

    Re: THE LAST TOMMY

    Hi all
But what a great idea, something I have spoken about before, the last man to go has a major send off, in honour of them all, just like the unknown soldier in Westminster Abbey, (I think he was picked out of 5 "unknowns"), to honour them all. But for the last man, what a tribute that would be to honour all the WW1 allies.

    Re: THE LAST TOMMY

I hadn't seen this thread and I was reading it just before 1100 today. The very least I could do was pitch my email into Jo Swinson, my local MP.

Cracking idea guys, keep up the good work!

Fatbadge is not feeling fluffy. Will be sending another email tomorrow. Today is not the right time for it.

It's worth remembering that it can take a couple of weeks to get a reply from a constituency MP. Emails and letters go to either their constituency office or Commons office, and are usually collated by staff. When I have written to my MP, he has always replied personally, but sometimes there is a holding reply first from his constituency office, to say that he is waiting for a ministerial response or whatever. A very quick reply may well indicate that an Mp's staff have filtered your letter and the MP hasn't actually seen it.
