Out in the Ulu - anywhere green
Ulu dates from the Malaya Campaign. Means Jungle or just generally country in Malay.
Gat comes from hte popular low powered air pistol of the same name.
Not forgetting bundook, (variously bondook etc) from the Swahili Bunduki, itself derived from Urdu I am told, presumably via Indian traders in days of Empire

Also in the 90's was Weaponhead for someone who was just a little too genned up on kit and what was what in various arms (ours and the Fantasian forces).
We had a chap in the platoon at RMAS who went by a very unfortunate name (McS****** - joined the RRF for a clue...) which got a lot of the Jock CSgts flying off the handle. He was a bit of a spotter (another name for the same above) and so was known as McWeaponhead.
