That practically IS Multicam, how reliable is this source Legs? Does this mean all the Banana republic cam we've been seeing is now a no-go or is this just another one for consideration?

Appreciate you probably don't know, but asking anyway

Brit DPM stylised multi-cam has to be the way ahead. Lets not stop at the clothing though, boots, rifles and other field kit should also get the cam treatment.
Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy-doo? The Garbage Man! Yes, the Garbage Man Can!

That is the cam that has been recommended for procurement - first as a Herrick UOR, subsequently as UK plc standard.

I like the idea of pouches direct onto the mesh but I've had a vest like that before and it tore through the mesh. the answer being to put patches of webbing behind the pouches and mesh and sewing to that.

The idea of replacing everything at once fills me with dread. And not just because I'll have to bin my windproof and trops! It seems such a waste of badly needed money and the potential for fcuk ups is immeasurable.
Some US "Them" (Army) are using this one:

USMC Spec Ops using this one:

From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for those candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship." The more pouches you have, the more you will carry.

The more weight you carry the more fatigued you will be become.

The more fatigued you are the more you will miss.

The more you miss the more likely you are to become ......

Exactly, whilst your changing the batteries in your radio for the third time in an hour and rechecking your GPS for the tenth time some bastard will sneak up and hit you over the head with a rock.

Is true that most Taliban in Afghan seem to wear flip-flops into battle or is that just a myth that's circulating?

We continue to re-invent the wheel on this. Here are some good summaries of the issues:

IMHO, it is usually a function of good leadership to strike the right balance between personal protection (body armor), personal needs (water, food, clothing, shelter), battlefield stress (heat, humidity, terrain, temperature)
and mission accomplishment (the ability to shoot, move and communicate).

This was a constant challenge for small unit leaders including me in Vietnam and later as a more senior leader in Desert Storm. In spite of the usually awful environmental conditions and extended time in the field in my recce platoon in Vietnam, even seasoned warriors would inexplicably load themselves down with excess and often frivolous "stuff," (ranging from "boom boxes" to their mothers' moldy chocolate chip cookies and beyond). Fortunately, due to their training and experience they would first ensure they had the requisite combat loads of ammunition, demolitions (especially the wonderful claymore mine), and spare batteries for radios.

Nevertheless, we invariably would have a detailed inspection just before leaving the wire to strip out these items lest they unnecessarily add to the fatigue of the carrier or worse, compromise our need for stealth by being discarded along the trail as the days wore on. I think part of it was a sense of superstition or strange desire to being some remnant of the civilized "world" with them.

On a Hot morning in cyprus I found the meaning of anger. Fortunataly I was comftably numb.
The RSM and various other NCO's seemed very agitated.
maybe they should look into counselling?
