Yes had the heel section, crumbled on a pair and seen others with similar problems, shame as they were comfy as!
Not just me then. Loved how comfy they were, wonder if anyone has any aged Altbergs that have sufferred the same fate?
Haven't experienced it, but I know that at least if it does happen on Altbergs, you just send them to Richmond and they replace the sole.

The Pro Boots, however, are simply notorious for it. That's why Field Textiles are selling them brand new for £15 a pair when they used to cost £120.

my friend is going to ask you some questions. personally, I hope you don't answer them because I want you to die in here and end up inside a pork pie!

Just throwing my three-penneth in the Altberg pot for service etc. Top notch in all respects. Worth a vist to the shop. After 26 years of wearing issue & civvy boots that i thought were ok to be told i had humongously fooking wide feet & why was i walking like a joey was a Road to Damscus experience for my plates. 8 week wait for my made to measure Peacekeeper P1's but i'm now sat at work in all this snowy shite comfy & warm with my boots hardly broken in but feeling like butter. Where the fook where Altberg in 83? Boots DMS my arse!

The Altberg boots are so good, they are the first ones never to have superfeet put into them for my plates of meat.

When I think of the number of superfeet over the years, I wished I had gone to Altberg 14 years ago
Well, the prodigal brother. When did you get back? Ain't seen you since the surrender. Come to think of it, I didn't see you at the surrender.

I don't believe in surrenders. Nope, I've still got my saber, Reverend. Didn't beat it into no plowshare, neither

Right so Altbergs are in the post, has anyone read this article about polish? I've always used Kiwi obviously but this advises not to. Is it a pile of cr4p or sound advice?

I use kiwi on my sneeker boots and have never noticed any problems. But, I guess it depends if you want to pay £4.24 for polish. However, if it helps the boots last longer then it might be worth it.

Yeah that is one reason I chose the Altbergs - britton won't resole the boots which is not good on a perfectly serviceable boot.

Get some spare laces as well, my ones broke within a few weeks' worth of use on the Peacekeeper P1s. The D-rings tend to chew them apart. I emailed Altberg recommending they use fatter rings with softer edges.

Leder Gris only for altbergs made in the last few years. They changed their leather supplier, and the new treated leather reacts badly to petroleum-based products long term. Short term you won't notice but once you've had a couple of resoles on them I can imagine you might regret ignoring their advice.

no, not a boot freek cheeky fcuk; just have to have the right tools to do the right job. have got a pair of desert and a pair of jungle too. six pairs in total. take Combat GTX boots, only got them for the winter, could not face gore-tex in the summer months.

i am dam sure that i am not the only one on here with six pairs of boots to my name!

“It’s SHITE being Scottish! We’re the lowest of the low. The scum of the fucking Earth! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the English. I don’t. They’re just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can’t even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We’re ruled by effete assholes.
