That's no different to our Admirals wearing Army generals rank in certain circumstances at Main Building.
I think everyone should really go towards the rather smart gold bar on the shoulders system... all the cool kids have them and more importantly they are easier to see/judge rank when cutting about bases than bloody pips and crowns.RAC(TA) - 2006-2009

You are suggesting an emulation of the Canadian system... there lies madness.
Besides you have just said RN already copy the Army system, and the RM use the Army system... so you should just change to our system.

In Afghanistan it's currently pretty tricky sometimes to tell RN from RAF. On MTP, a lot of RAF are wearing 'solid' bars, and two-thick-and-a-thin-one-in-the-middle can mean a Lr Cdr RN or a Sqn Ldr. Whenthe RN have the curly bit on it's OK, but otherwise they are identical.

Surely the Navy should always have a 'curly bit' on?
They are the same rank anyway...
Maybe we should have roman numberals... ie A Lt Cdr, Maj or Sqn Ldr could have a 'III' a 3 star general could have a 'VIII'.

Some comments are allegedly "very very nasty and uncalled for."
